Faramoon
Improving the sales conversion in an interactive way
Redesign • One pager • Conversion optimalisation
Redesign • One pager • Conversion optimalisation
The project
Faramoon had an existing website that with a low conversion rate. During this project I analysed their current website and pointed out multiple factors from which I though they were the reason why the website wasn't converting. I applied different e-commerce techniques that are scientifically proven to increase the conversion ratio. The project was finished with a redesigned website in the form of a one pager and a set of strategic advices from my side so they could explore different ways to increase the conversion even more by themselves.
About Faramoon
Based in Melbourne, Australia, Faramoon is a company that provides software that automatically converts raw scan data of buildings into highly accurate 3D models. It saves people modeling buildings a lot of time as they don't have to manually convert the scan data to 3D models, that's what Faramoon does.
The goal of the website
The website is part of the sales funnel of Faramoon. It functions as the place where first time customers can upload their raw scan files for a free 3D model to demonstrate what the software can do for them. After that, Faramoon takes over the sales funnel themselves by providing one-on-one advice about the software. The website is there with the goal to have people get to know the software and it's features and to get people upload their scan files.
Achieving the goal
The website converts if people upload their scan files. It was important that it becomes clear through the website that someone can try out the software for free. That's why a visitor is able to provide their data files from multiple points of the website. It's also the next step in Faramoon's sales funnel.
The website is designed for people who don't know Faramoon yet. It allows people to get to know the key features of the software. The goal of the website is to have people think of what Faramoon can do for them in their daily work and for them to provide their scan files for a free demo.
Throughout the process of discussing ideas for the new website with Faramoon I realised there was one important factor missing in the website. People could submit their scan files for a free demo, that was the goal of the website. But there is a problem with that, people need to wait until Faramoon has processed their files. That takes time, and time plays a key factor in the conversion rate of a product. The longer it takes to fulfill a customer's needs, the less likely it is they will convert. I couldn't reduce the time it takes to process a file with this redesign, but I could make the waiting time more usefull for both the visitor and Faramoon. I did that by designing multiple ways to give visitors an interactive preview of the software right from within the websie. These previews got a prominent positon on the website, because they could tell more than a million words, it's the perfect way to show people what Faramoon can do.
There are multiple ways people can get a preview about the Faramoon software:
Interactive comparison slider
Allows a visitor to compare a raw scan file with the output of the software. It's a really quick way to preview an example.
A comprehensive example file
Allows a visitor to download a file that can be explored in any 3D model software. It's prefect to get a detailled preview of the software, a visitor has access to a complete demo file.
While Faramoon gives personalised advice on their software to anyone who requests a demo, it is still possible to directly reach out to them for questions or advice before, after, or without requesting a demo. The About us and Contact us section allows a visitor to choose between different ways of contacting Faramoon. By email, by phone, or an office visit. Anything is possible.
